Stop (Though We Can't)

No I'm not color blind
I know the world is black and white
Try to keep an open mind but...
I just can't sleep on this tonight
Stop this train I want to get off and go home again
I can't take the speed it's moving in
I know I can't
But honestly won't someone stop this train

Don't know how else to say it, don't want to see my parents go
One generation's length away
From fighting life out on my own

Stop this train
I want to get off and go home again
I can't take the speed it's moving in
I know I can't but honestly won't someone stop this train

So scared of getting older
I'm only good at being young
So I play the numbers game to find away to say that life has just begun
Had a talk with my old man
Said help me understand
He said turn 68, you'll renegotiate
Don't stop this train
Don't for a minute change the place you're in
Don't think I couldn't ever understand
I tried my hand
John, honestly we'll never stop this train

See once in a while when it's good
It'll feel like it should
And they're all still around
And you're still safe and sound
And you don't miss a thing
'til you cry when you're driving away in the dark.

Singing stop this train I want to get off and go home again
I can't take this speed it's moving in
I know I can't
Cause now I see I'll never stop this train

As we're on the edge of 2010, some memories appear on my mind, force me to reconsider the some plans for upcoming year. What disturbs me is to acknowledge that time flies, so fast. Ten years ago, the early part of millennium year, then years of my secondary school, moments of my high school, and now the college life. Yes it's life whose time can't be played back, no matter how hard you try, no matter how hard you avoid the fact that you're going to leave your adolescence real soon. Close your eyes and suddenly it's 2011. However, see you in another life chapter.

Cause now I see I'll never stop this train.

A Beautiful Mind

"Perhaps it is good to have a beautiful mind, but an even greater gift is to discover a beautiful heart. "
John Nash (Russell Crowe), deleted scene.
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41X%2BinZbQvL._SL500_AA300_.jpg

Ternyata ga rugi begadang buat nonton karena after taste nonton film ini : what an incredible story, what a great movie, Ron Howard is extraordinary!

Oke, mulai dari casts-nya. Russell Crowe did his great performance. Well, gue bukan a big fan of him tapi totalitas doi dalam memerankan John Forbes Nash, Jr. patut diacungi jempol. Sedangkan tokoh yang paling mencuri perhatian gue justru Alicia Nash (well, I'm straight by the way) yang diperankan oleh Jennifer Connelly. Karakter kuat. Mimik firm. Attitude terhormat. Classy! No wonder Jennifer memenangkan Best Actress in a Supporting Role pada Oscar 2002 atas perannya di film ini.

Lalu, jalan cerita.Though gue ga baca bukunya, plot maju yang diusung dengan baik berhasil menggambarkan bagian-bagian penting kehidupan John Nash. Sekali lagi, I adore Alicia Nash. She should be idolized for her perseverance, patience, and love.

Praise Akiva Goldsman, the man behind every word in this movie, for the brilliant scenario.

"Nothing's ever for sure, John. That's the only sure thing I do know."
Charles (Paul Bettany)

Anyway, I'm not about to write how the story goes, you should watch the movie. Experience it. Feel the pathetic part, the tremendous Nobel winner has mental disease. Eventually, take a good lesson from it. Nothing has ever achieved without hard work, perseverance, and love. That one's from me. Have yours :)

Hell-O

It's been a while without any posts. I'd got so many things to write down. Some of them had already been typed but hitting up the "publish" button was a little bit confusing on me lately. I didn't feel like I wrote something good and worth your time reading. Quite frankly, I do care of what I post and (even I know sounds excessive) the effect of each post to readers. Besides, my mind had been obstructed and everything went blank each time I surf the cyber world. Fyuh, well, since it's holiday and today, I have no specific schedule, I planned to write some posts about things, nice and bad occurrences, beautiful and ugly moments, all before we face the new year.

December

Hello there. A mosquito was about to suck my blood when I started typing (okay, it's not important). So I've been so busy these recent weeks. Had some chances to write but yeah I traded those chances for sleeping or relaxing hehe.
Well, talking about November, I couldn't find an appropriate word to describe the previous month. It's just like...umm (sigh).  A lot of things happened during the month. Some led me to feel so contented. Some complied my to-do lists. Some hurt me that much so I couldn't keep my tears from falling. Some gave me precious experiences. Some forced me to think a lot deeper about future. Some.. well some just came and suddenly went away as easy as it came.
I can't say that November was easy, but it was ah-ma-zing, literally. I praise God for every moment, for everything. I do ask for a nice, sweet December but inside, I know I can not resist adventurous journey. So, I'm now asking for some other wishes; strength to overcome things, a mighty heart, and lots of joy.

Guten Abend!

And I Hope Nothing Turns Blue

I'm extremely busy nowadays. It's now common to get home at night and then directly hit the bed. And it got me think, what is the aim of all these? I just...hope for the best and pray that these efforts turn
good.

Morning Breeze

I'm currently waiting for my introduction-to-economics class to start.
I'm entirely alone here. Got here too soon in the morning. So, I
opened my schedule and realized that the two following weeks would be
hectic. Fyi, I'm working on some projects right now, and one of them
is yeah relatively big. Hopefully, my luvly team will nail it and get
the opportunity to take the rest of responsibility. Oooh November,
pleasee be über nice hehe. Have a good day, folks. (:

New Morning with Enchant Blog

Today, after seeing how messy this blog is, I decided to take a step. Redesigning it. Have a lot of stories to share, thoughts to be debated on, and dreams to draw... :)

Yes, I Call it New Love

It feels so contented when you know that tomorrow is Monday, but you're still excited about waking up early and hitting the public transportation to get you to classes. I love doing this. Yes, I love seeing myself sung in economics books, feeling burned due to difficulty of business and accounting equations, or even simply, trying to understand why some irrational trades happen orderly in this society. They're right, without passion, you'll never get it, fully.

Forever and Ever

Since I was a kid, I've been wondering what "ever after" phrase would be truly like. I name it, on my mind,  ever after means happiness with no limit of time and space. But as I grow older, it seems to be so imaginative and...a little bit manipulative.

I'm not only talking about lovey dovey thingy which appears to be so beautiful and so, makes you wanna feel it like forever. Things are varied around us and we, basically, want them to be greatly arranged, all the time. In fact, they go down, sometimes. They can't always  stand for good (in this case, I call myself living witness of good-things-which-slowly-falls-apart).

I don't put the blame on the creator of Cinderella which forced my mind that forever and ever does exist. Well, it's not his/her fault either to create that such ending. Honestly, after thinking of stuffs, I blame myself.

Most of the time, I only see how a story ends, without considering the process itself. To be honest, Cinderella was being tortured by her stepmother and stepsisters before meeting her prince charming. Okay, she still looks gorgeous even while mopping the terrace. However, no need to ask how the story drew the cruelty of her stepmother and stepsisters. Don't you think that she deserves the happiness ever after?

Briefly, I think all people deserve it. No matter how happy your life seems like, we're (all) suffering over some things.  And that's the point. I still believe that (though it sounds too good to be true) "forever and ever" does exist. But there are matters we should get over, we should forget, we should beat down, before experiencing the happily ever after. It does exist. And should be championed.

Night Tale

Thank You

But how do you thank someone, who has taken you from crayons to perfume?

It isn't easy, but I'll try,

If you wanted the sky I would write across the sky in letters,

That would soar a thousand feet high,
To Sir, with Love

That's a lot to learn,

What, what can I give you in return?
If you wanted the moon I would try to make a start,
But I, would rather you let me give my heart,
To Sir, with Love....
To Sir With Love, initially recorded by Lulu
That's song from Glee's Journey Episode. What a touching song, huh?

I'm not talking about the song or the episode either. I honestly want to share what suddenly came up on my mind while listening to it. I was thinking about being thankful.

I realize how often I grumble about things I don't possess, about problems I face, about people around me, about every single thing. Sometimes, sadly, I must be warned by unlucky random people who cross my way or stay near me. Then, I'll feel like I'm, at least, better than those random people. Sound selfish, huh? But hell yeah, most people, including me, do some comparisons to feel good or secure.

I once was taught that we, human, should not compare the gifts we have to somebody's gifts. We're personally given one life. And it's not recommended to compare. But it's still so hard, for me, to be thankful for who I am, for what I have, not for what I can do and others can't.

Lately, I feel like my life is such a gift. And I feel pretty good because of that. And as what the lyric said, what can I give in return? Well, maybe I've just discovered the answer. That's also my life that I can give in return, in different form of gift.

Back on Track

Hello, world. What's up? It's been very nice here. Everything seems so challenging, and I like it actually. It spurs my adrenaline to jump into this whole new world, well it's not that new, but it's started, all over again.
My orientation week is over. Only another week for post-orientation. It will steal my energy once more, but who cares? I am committed to myself that I'm going to give all I have for these four years especially, and my entire life generally.
I've not arranged any plans, yet. But soon after I understand all the systems, traditions, activities, I'll shortly write all my plans down and play the game.

Oh hey dear future, I'm ready to rock!

My Soul on Fire Part 2

http://www.blogthedayaway.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/01-300x168.jpg

Janitor : “I just wanna say something before we kiss okay. To the guests, thanks for coming even though I didn’t want you here. I know that I’m weird, but you know you’d be weird too if your mother aged backwards like mine did. So the thing is I always kinda figured that I’d end up alone… and then you came along. And you don’t just accept my quirks and my crazy stories, and my lies about my mom… you actually appreciate me for them. And I’ll never stop appreciating you for that. I know I’ll never stop loving you for it.”

I was speechless. The words stopped me for a while, thinking how nice it was. Don't you wish a lover who's a lot like Lady? Me? Yeah.

Hello Again

Hey the world. I'm writing again(blabbering, exactly). Life's been great, I love it. Well, it's almost midnight but I'm not sleepy, at all. maybe, because of my recent habits, sleeping at 3am, finishing the essays and ospek stuffs. Some say that sort of thing sucks. For me, it's good, it's never been this good, really.
I've met some new fellas. Gonna tell you later, I only want to blabber here. Okay, you know what, I almost forget how it feels to be in love. It's not a hypothesis, it's more like a final statement. It feels literally nothing when it comes to happy lovey dovey songs or romantic movie or simply two walking lovebirds. It refers to no one when I go to bed and think.
I know it's good or not, but yes I miss it somehow. Hot guys are everywhere, I'm staying, here waiting for one hottest guy to come hahaha. I found a fact that I'm easily impressed, too easily. Yea it's hard to fall in love though.
Anyway I didn't mean to lament these moments. I do enjoy every pleasure I get by being single. And yes, I'm still believing that someday my time will come. A time to get back into love, yes love.

This Letter

Dear Mr. Ban Ki-moon,
I was walking around my neighborhood today when I witnessed how lively my environment was. Unfortunately, the electricity was going out when I arrived home. Suddenly I realized that a lot of people throughout the world are suffering from blackout everyday because of the lack of energy distributed to their homes.
Then, my mind flew to nuclear power. This power is able to produce enormous energy for electricity and give other advantages. In the other side, it’s also possible to destroy this entire planet. I knew that nuclear power could help human being in many aspects. In fact, a lot of people confront the using of this energy and are afraid of nuclear misapplication. I wondered how to maximize the advantages of nuclear power peacefully.
I was grateful to realize that there’s a global organization which accommodate world’s security. Nuclear power should be utilized for good intention. In the other side, people’s ignorance about this issue and fear of its misapplication are obstacles to peaceful use of nuclear power.
As a part of world citizen, I suggest some solutions to this problem. UN could contribute by making the nuclear power as global issue and educating all people about nuclear itself. While doing it, UN should define strict rules of nuclear development, keep supervising, and also support further study about safe nuclear utilization.
Mr. Ban Ki-moon, under your influence in nuclear management, I believe that UN would bring a better future for the entire world by performing peaceful use of nuclear power. Eventually, I hope people would witness how lively this world is and experience the advantages of nuclear power.
Best regards,

Nadya PH

This letter brought me to the IMUN conference. Sigh, even till now, I don't have a certainty of my own presence in this event. I really want to, though :'(

Maldvies (I Hope)

Simple Joy of Life Part 2

I witness how easy to laugh, to be blithe
I see how lively the whole world going
But please, don't doubt my experiences in grappling with problems
I once was beaten
But then I woke up one day smiling and feeling grateful for the most modest grace
That's the day I won
I'm a survivor

I wanna live it, fully
Yes, I wanna give the best of me

Here It Goes Again

Gue baru masuk sehari loh sehari. Kalo anak SD hari pertama sekolah adalah masanya kenalan sama temen-temen kelas yang baru trus main-main, seneng-senenglah pokoknya. Oke, gue kebangetan ngebandingin sama bocah bau kencur.

And yeah, hello college life...

Someday

One day we're gonna live in Paris
I promise, I'm on it
When I'm bringing in the money
I promise, I'm on it

I'm gonna take you out to club showcase
We're gonna live it up
I promise
Just hold on a little more
And every night we'll watch the stars
They'll be out for us, they'll be out for us
And every night, the city lights
They'll be out for us, they'll be out for us

One day we're gonna live in Paris
I promise, I'm on it
I'll find you that French boy
You'll find me that French girl
I promise, I'm on it

So go and pack your bags for the long haul
We're gonna lose ourselves
I promise
This time it's you and me for evermore

And every night we'll watch the stars
They'll be out for us, they'll be out for us
And every night, the city lights
They'll be out for us, they'll be out for us

And every night we'll watch the stars
They'll be out for us, they'll be out for us
And every night, the city lights
They'll be out for us, they'll be out for us

When Worst Criminal was Touched by Love

I was walking my own blog when I stumbled on a post titled Despicable Me. I once promised to share my thoughts about the movie (but forgot it for a while, sorryyy). And yes, this post is dedicated for that promise.
I could personally say that the movie's second best animation movie after Up. I couldn't stop thinking about good values the movie brought to my mind and heart. It sent the message through funny and silly jokes, good scenario, and appropriate casts. The sequence of events in that movie guided me to the conclusion that everybody deserves to be loved.
We're not only talking about certain kind of love here. It's more about warm love, the good one, the love itself. The story was about a not-so-young super criminal named Gru (Steve Carell) who was dying to steal the moon (it's so silly, I know).
Then he adopted three kids from an orphanage.
Through several events, the heartless villain turned into a warm man who had no power to not love the kids and creatures around him.

I adored how the three kids goofed around. They were so annoying yet charming and loving. They had no idea that Gru was a super villain. They had no aim, either, to change Gru. The best thing about this movie is how natural the kids acted. They were sincere. These little kids could affect a villain's heart.
Well, I know it's only a movie where imaginations gathered and seemed to make everything possible. Back to reality, I know it sounds too imaginative to change a villain's heart. I, personally, often hate people who turn my life upside down and call them villain. I used to say that they didn't deserve anybody's compassion. I don't even think to change their hearts. Walking away from them is the best.
But this movie has changed my mind. Well, even it's still hard to not avoid them, I slowly open my heart to forgive. And yes, I no longer say that they didn't deserve to be loved because in the end, we're all human who are basically willing to love and to be loved, huh?

Holiday Report

Hello you guys. It's been a while since my last post. Few inspirations crossed my mind last week, so yeaaah, I abandoned this blog. Since my holiday is almost up, I should share what I've been doing during these days off.
Let's make it clear, this so lovely holiday will end three days from now. I gave up books and lessons on err 15th April and I'll be back on track again around 1st August. Calculate it, and yeah it's the number, 108 days, which is equal with 3 months plus 18 days. How fast time flies, huh? For me, the number is relatively short.
I'm proud to say that this is the best holiday I've ever had. This holiday is a chance for me to learn, think, reconsider, remember, forgive, forget, and plan a lot of matters. It's also an opportunity to escape from daily routines, do things I love, and visit places. To make it short, I list these stuffs :
1. I learned new things. Driving, writing, cooking, washing dishes (it's not that easy), editing pictures, photography, and a lot more. I am not expert yet. But I've tried to give shots and am willing to keep learning :)
2. I spent my time mostly at home. But it's not that bad at all. I've finally seen what had been obstructed by my own ego. The best part of realizing it is when I came to a point where I really really want to see more and more so that I could understand how to fix the mess.
3. I found myself back. After going through a year of hard work and tears, some pieces of me was...lost. Having it back was a great deal but not easy. On my way there, I discovered that I should have changed some bad attitudes. And yes, I am still fixing myself. But I feel a lot better.
Yeah, that's how good this holiday was. Maybe it seems boring to you. Still for me, it's a great time. Now, here I am. With new ammos and some stockpiles, I'm ready to fight.
So long, holiday. See you soon :)

Despicable Me

Just watched it. Gonna tell you the later :)

Evolving

I was having writer's block when this blog's statistics went down last week. Thanks to my Dorian who gave me such illuminating idea about growing up stuffs. So, here I am, sharing my opinions about it.
Photobucket
I used to think that maturity is something which comes along with the increasing number of candles you blow every year on your birthday. I used to expect that people older than me could understand my (childish) behavior. I used to wish that elderly buddies could give wise advices on matters I faced.

But then, these things happened : I witnessed people, who has more then 20 candles on their next birthday, crying over something they should had forgotten, I listened to same old love story from elderly friends who kept falling into the same hole, and I watched my Dorian fooling his friends around with such funny-yet-improper hoaxes that are normally thrown by a five-years-old kid.

Oppositely, my so-called friend who was an early teen gave me a comforting counsel when I was so terribly sad and confused and I knew some younger acquaintances who suddenly acted maturely and saved my day.

I was shocked at first to recognize the childish side of adult and was also mesmerized by the maturity of some young people.

I, then, looked at myself. My 17th birthday was about 3 months ago and I don't even think that I've grown up so well. I had been spending my time being a kid for about 16 years and couple of months. I said that I was mature enough to have boyfriend when my mom asked me to consider my relationship. I said that I was mature enough to choose on universities (which really is not me) I would take when my family asked me to consider the options. I said that I was mature enough to do this and that, realizing that my age was called appropriate to do this that and bla bla.

Frankly, I was not that mature.

Maturity isn't something which comes along with the increasing age. When you grow older, you're, honestly, expected to grow up, to grow wiser, to grow better. It's something that should be earned, should be achieved as you'll face bigger challenges. Sometimes, the childish side of an adult comes up, and it really is okay, normal, since we're human. The most important thing is we learn not only how to move the cupboard we couldn't switch when we're kid, but also how to move on with our lives. That's evolving, I guess.

I Heart

NISAN
Bukan kematian benar menusuk kalbu
Keridhaanmu menerima segala tiba
Tak kutahu setinggi itu di atas debu
Dan duka maha tuan tak bertahta
                                                                        Chairil Anwar

Oh, I think I'm in love with literature...
